R.I.P. Dublin Dr. Pepper

This happened in January, but I didn't find out until last weekend. Apparently the big Dr. Pepper Snapple Group (a Texan company!)  has nipped the cane-sugar-using Dublin Dr. Pepper in the bud due to trademark disputes. The poor little town that bottled it is pissed. Ironically, the company website's brand page for Dr. Pepper has a reference to the original DP: http://www.drpeppersnapplegroup.com/brands/dr-pepper.

So (not that it will make a bit of difference), I'm very much boycotting the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. Here are the "brands" I'll never buy again:

  • 7UP
  • A&W
  • Cactus Cooler
  • Canada Dry
  • Clamato
  • Coco Casa
  • Country Time
  • Crush
  • Deja Blue
  • Diet Rite
  • Dr Pepper
  • Elements
  • Hawaiian Punch
  • Hires
  • Holland House
  • IBC
  • Margaritaville
  • Mistic
  • Mott's
  • Mr & Mrs T
  • Nantucket Nectars
  • Nehi
  • Orangina
  • Peñafiel
  • RC Cola
  • ReaLemon
  • 'Rose's
  • Schweppes
  • Snapple
  • Squirt
  • Stewart's
  • Sun Drop
  • Sunkist
  • Tahitian Treat
  • Venom Energy
  • Vernors
  • Welch's
  • Yoo-hoo
To make matters worse, there seems to be a "throwback" Dr. Pepper on the horizon. Talk about conflicting!
